vsiblogoImmobilisers, as their name suggests, render the vehicle undriveable, either by physically breaking the ignition circuit or by linking in with the engine computer. Many cars have immobilisers without the owner knowing about it as they are switched on and off by a chip in the ignition key.

Most new cars are supplied with an alarm and immobiliser, although these can always be upgraded.

PDA install Cobra and LaserLine Immobilisers:

Thatcham Category 1

PDA are fully qualified and trained Thatcham approved installers. To gain your Thatcham approval for your insurer your immobiliser must be installed by an police-landroverapproved installer such as PDA.

But what is THATCHAM?
In 1993 the British insurance industry test centre at Thatcham in Berkshire was tasked with establishing standards for car security products.

The result was the Thatcham set of criteria, rigorous product testing standards and lists of approved products, regularly reviewed.

PDA have their accreditation through VSIB who are the national Regulatory and Accreditation body for Vehicle Systems Installers and their installations.
